Steven Pregozen
Chief of Staff
Steven Pregozen joined Madison Associates, Inc. in December 2010, after a twenty-seven (27) year career as a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI). He held a number of positions of increasing responsibility from Special Agent to that of Chief of Staff. Mr. Pregozen served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Buffalo Field Office where he was responsible for managing hundreds of financial fraud investigations and the related asset forfeiture aspects of the investigations. As a Senior Analyst at IRS Headquarters, Mr. Pregozen was the foremost expert on offshore transactions. He was the Deputy Director of Technology Operations and Investigative Services, and as such provided guidance using text analytic software to reveal conspiracies in a major offshore evasion scheme using foreign bank accounts.
Mr. Pregozen, as a member of Madison Associates, Inc., and Madison's Chief of Staff, has assisted a government client in the development of a Document Analysis Center (DAC), including its structural design, configuration, and day-to-day operations. He designed the center to convert paper and electronic evidence into searchable formats that are used by government agents and Madison financial investigators to identify and document criminal activity and assets acquired and used in that illicit conduct. Mr. Pregozen oversees the Madison Financial Analysis Unit (FAU), a unit of highly skilled investigators responsible for researching government and commercial databases for information on individuals, businesses, ownership of properties and financial account information. He maintains expertise in conducting complex financial investigations and specializes in the development and use of information technology and data analytics in criminal investigations.
Mr. Pregozen was an honors graduate from UCLA, with a degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Electronic Discovery Specialist.
