John Hieronymus joined Madison Associates, Inc., in August 2012 as a Project Director and Senior Counsel. Mr. Hieronymus joined Madison upon his retirement from government service following a twenty-nine (29) year career with the U.S. Department of Justice. Upon his retirement he was the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Forfeiture Counsel where he oversaw the work of a team of attorneys responsible for all administrative forfeiture actions and attendant activities undertaken by DEA, a position he held for 15 years. Prior to that he was an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Western District of Michigan where he prosecuted drug traffickers, money launderers and corrupt officials and also pursued forfeiture actions in connection with a variety of federal criminal violations.

Due to his extensive knowledge and expertise, Mr. Hieronymus has been a frequent legal instructor at Federal interagency asset forfeiture functions and provides advanced money laundering and asset forfeiture instruction. He has also provided this training in over fourteen (14) countries and is currently a member of Madison's professional training team which provides instruction to client agencies throughout the country on forfeiture, financial investigative techniques, and money laundering.
